History and main directions of the department.

State security is directly related to the security of national information resources. This connection is growing every year, which means that the rapid development of information and communication technologies requires reliable protection of national information resources. Therefore, training in information security is one of the important issues for states Therefore, training in information security is one of the important issues for states. For this purpose, the leadership of the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek on September 25, 2014, on the basis of the Department of Computational Technologies and Mathematical Modeling, created the Department of Information Security PhD, Associate Professor Juraev G.U. was appointed head of the department.

In July 2016, the Department of Information Security merged with the Department of Computational Technologies and Information Systems and began to work as the Department of Mathematical Modeling and Cryptanalysis.

In October 2018, on the basis of the Department of Mathematical Modeling and Cryptanalysis, the Department of Information Security was reorganized. From October 2018 to August 2020, the department was headed by Ph.D., Associate Professor Ibragimov F.N.
