Visit of the Rector of Osh State University to the National University of Uzbekistan

A delegation led by the rector of Osh State University of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kohobekov Kudayberdi Gaparaliyevich, visited to the National University of Uzbekistan on November 23, 2023.

The delegation was welcomed by Vice Rector for International Relations Raima Shirinova and Head of the Rector's Organizational Service Department Azizjon Aripov.

During the meeting, various international events and international activities aimed at further strengthening the long-term cooperation between the two universities, publishing scientific articles in cooperation, increasing the academic mobility programs of teachers and students, and working towards the goals of joint sustainable development and improving the quality of education and opinions were expressed about the organization of conferences.

During the visit, the rector of Osh State University met with Kyrgyz students studying at the National University of Uzbekistan on academic mobility.

Students shared their impressions about studying in Uzbekistan and the National University of Uzbekistan and the skills they acquired during the meeting.

It is known that the Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan collaborates with many universities in Kyrgyzstan and has signed official memorandums of understanding with them. Among these, the Osh State University of Kyrgyzstan is included. The memorandum between the two universities was signed in 2018, and cooperation activities have been ongoing to this date.

On May 20, 2023, a delegation comprising of the leadership and professors of the Faculty of Foreign Languages from Kyrgyzstan's Osh State University visited the National University of Uzbekistan. The delegation was welcomed by the Dean and department heads of the Faculty of Foreign Philology at the National University of Uzbekistan.

Experts in foreign language education from both countries discussed the work done, experiences, and future plans for the development of this field. Issues regarding academic mobility and organizing short-term experience exchange programs between the faculties were discussed.

Additionally, it was agreed to conduct joint scientific research, organize conferences in collaboration, and set up remote seminars. At the end of the meeting, the timeline for the tasks to be undertaken in collaboration was determined.

Today, on September 27, an online meeting took place between Osh State University and the National University of Uzbekistan, with the participation of the Vice-Rector for International Relations Raima Shirinova and the Head of the Foreign Students Department Diyora Islomova.

This meeting discussed expanding the student exchange program under the academic mobility program signed with Osh State University for many years, in the years 2023-2024.

Issues related to admitting students to the National University for short-term and one-semester academic mobility programs in various fields for the years 2023-2024 were examined. In turn, issues concerning the participation of the National University of Uzbekistan in the academic mobility program to the Kyrgyz Republic's Osh State University were discussed.
