Representatives of the National University of Uzbekistan at the congress of the international rating agency THE in Istanbul

The Global Sustainable Development Congress (GSDC), organized by Times Higher Education, will be held in Istanbul, Turkey, from 16 to 19 June 2025.

This congress brought together more than 5,000 representatives of higher education institutions, research centers, industry and non-governmental organizations from about 100 countries around the world, creating an opportunity to exchange best practices and discuss practical solutions for sustainable development.

This year’s congress brought together 82 delegates from 9 higher education institutions in our country, including Alijon Oripov, Head of the Department of Strategic Development and International Ratings, and department specialists Zarina Rakhmonova and Muhammadali Sayiddiy, representing the National University of Uzbekistan.

This four-day event will feature a variety of seminars, master classes, and panel discussions:

•“Embedding the SDGs in Teaching and Learning” — international experiences in effectively integrating the SDGs into educational processes.
•“Partnerships for Sustainable Futures” — ways to develop inter-university and industrial cooperation for a sustainable future.
•“Green Campuses and Sustainable Infrastructure” — practical experiences in creating environmentally sustainable campuses.
•“THE Impact Rankings: Insights and Trends” — the latest analysis of THE Impact rankings and trends among universities around the world.

The results of the THE Impact Rankings 2025 are also expected to be announced during this congress. These results serve as an important indicator in assessing the potential of universities for research, social responsibility, environmental initiatives, and global cooperation within the framework of the SDGs.
