On the occasion of October 21 – the day when the Uzbek language was given the status of the state language, a festive event on the theme “Language is the mirror of the nation” was organized at the student dormitory No. 6 of the Faculty of History of the National University of Uzbekistan.

The event was opened by the First Vice-Rector of the University, Jabbor Mukhammadiev, who sincerely congratulated all professors, teachers, and students on this significant date. In his speech, he emphasized the role of the state language in enhancing national identity and spirituality, as well as the enormous responsibility of youth.

Then the Dean of the Faculty of History A.Muminov spoke about the origin of the Uzbek language, the history of its development, the difficulties in the process of granting the status of the state language, as well as reforms aimed at improving language policy today.
In the festive program, students performed songs and melodies, and national dances were performed. Also, students of the Faculty of Journalism and Uzbek Philology, who came as guests to the event, enthusiastically recited poems that are the anthem of the Motherland, language and nation.

At the end of the event, the university and faculty leadership studied the living conditions of the students and listened to their interests, problems, suggestions and comments. Responsible persons were given appropriate instructions to improve the living conditions of students.
