Today, on November 17, a delegation led by Petra De Sutter, Rector of the prestigious Ghent University in Belgium, visited Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan. The meeting was attended by NUUz’s Vice-Rector for International Relations, Raima Shirinova, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work and Innovation, Yoqub Ergashev, as well as the deans of the relevant faculties.

At the beginning of the event, the parties exchanged information about the universities’ activities, scientific potential, faculty composition, and ongoing international initiatives.

During the discussions, opportunities for joint scientific projects in the field of natural sciences, academic mobility of students and faculty in biology and chemistry, the establishment of joint programs and research laboratories, as well as summer schools, internships, and professional development courses were considered.

At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to gradually develop cooperation in mutually beneficial areas, designate responsible coordinators, and begin practical work on the agreed projects.
