The International Conference “GISCA-2026” Kicks Off at NUUz

From May 28 to 30 this year, the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek is hosting the International Scientific and Practical Conference “GISCA-2026” on the theme “Geospatial Intelligent Systems for Digital Earth”.

This prestigious forum has gathered leading experts and young researchers working in the fields of geospatial technologies, satellite observations, remote sensing, and GIS into a single platform. The event serves as an important hub for developing innovative geoinformation technologies between Central Asian countries and international partner universities.

At the opening ceremony, Shuhrat Toshmatov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the university, and Professor Josef Strobl, President of “Eurasia-Pacific UNINET”, warmly welcomed the participants. Within the framework of the three-day program, presentations by scientists from countries such as Austria, Germany, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and China are being delivered. Additionally, special practical workshops on satellite data processing and modern GIS software have been organized for the attendees.

The scientific ideas and new cooperation initiatives proposed at the conclusion of the event are expected to lay the foundation for major future scientific breakthroughs. Furthermore, the conference features technical sessions and poster presentations showcasing the latest technological advancements in the field. The conference will run until May 30.
