On July 2, Ilhom Siradjev, Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Education Reform, and Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, visited the National University of Uzbekistan.
During the visit, the officials familiarized themselves with the University’s cutting-edge research activities, innovative developments, and ongoing projects aimed at introducing scientific achievements into key sectors of the national economy.
The delegation also visited the Inter-University Educational and Research Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology, where they were briefed on research being conducted in molecular biotechnology, cell technologies, genetic engineering, microbiology, and bioinformatics. The practical significance of these studies for agriculture, food security, healthcare, and environmental sustainability was also highlighted.
Particular attention was given to scientific research and its practical outcomes in priority areas such as ensuring food security, enhancing agricultural productivity, strengthening environmental sustainability, and advancing biotechnology, chemistry, biology, and other strategic fields.
The discussions also focused on the commercialization of scientific research, the wider industrial application of innovative products, strengthening the integration of science, education, and industry, and creating greater opportunities for the active involvement of young researchers in modern scientific endeavors.
