- In 2025, the Department of “Econometrics and Economic Modeling” conducted scientific research under project No. AL-7823051642 entitled “Econometric Modeling and Forecasting of Demand for Insurance Services in Uzbekistan Based on Socio-Economic and Demographic Factors.” Within the framework of this applied project, a monograph titled “Econometric Modeling and Forecasting of Demand for Insurance Services in Uzbekistan” was prepared, reflecting the results of research carried out by the authors Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Sh.S. Nasretdinova, G.S. Abdujalilova, M.R. Bekberganova, N.R. Ubaydullayeva, and Z. Shorakhimova. The monograph presents econometric models of demand for insurance services both nationwide and by regions, based on demographic and production potential of the territories, as well as opportunities for medium-term forecasting. A comprehensive probabilistic-statistical analysis of the population by gender and age structure was also conducted. In addition, methodologies and algorithms for calculating tariff rates for life insurance products were developed. This monograph is intended for specialists in insurance activities, particularly life insurance, as well as researchers, academic staff, university professors in finance-related fields, master’s students, and students.
- During 2017–2021, the Department of “Econometrics and Economic Modeling” carried out scientific research under project No. PZ-20170930126 entitled “Ways to Improve the Methodology for Analyzing and Assessing Investment Project Risks Based on International Standards.” Within the framework of this applied project, a monograph titled “Modeling the Assessment of Investment Project Risks” was prepared, which reflects the research results achieved by Associate Professor Sh.S. Nasretdinova, D.A. Jalilov, and B.S. Mirzaev. This scientific work serves as a scientific and practical resource that complies with international standards in the field of investment project planning and risk management.
- The faculty members of the Department of “Econometrics and Economic Modeling” at the National University of Uzbekistan are carrying out significant work in the field of digitalization of economic sectors and analysis of the investment environment. In particular, an important intellectual property object was created in co-authorship with the Head of the Department, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Sh. Nasretdinova. On September 27, 2018, the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan issued an official CERTIFICATE (No. DGU 05670) for the computer software program called “Invest-Risk.” This software development is aimed at reducing risk levels in attracting investments and managing projects in the economy. This achievement is part of the department’s long-term strategy to ensure integration between higher education and industry and confirms the department’s high potential not only in scientific theory, but also in creating practical tools for the digital economy.
- Within the framework of the scientific and innovative activities of the Department of “Econometrics and Economic Modeling,” another significant achievement was attained in analyzing the investment environment through digital technologies. On December 3, 2019, the team of authors (Sh. Nasretdinova and others) received a state CERTIFICATE (No. DGU 07244) for the software system entitled “System for Assessing Investment Project Risks Using Directed Graphs.” This software system enables the visualization and analysis of complex relationships in investment projects through mathematical graphs (directed graphs). This method provides more accurate identification of project risks and demonstrates high efficiency in mathematically modeling their impact on the final outcomes of projects. The system serves as a modern econometric tool for optimizing decision-making processes in the economy, assessing the viability of investment projects, and managing risks. This scientific achievement further strengthens the department’s potential in the fields of digital economy and Data Science.
- The scientific potential of the Department of “Econometrics and Economic Modeling” is reflected not only in applied software developments but also in the advancement of fundamental scientific theories. In October 2019, the team of authors led by the Head of the Department, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Sh. Nasretdinova, received a CERTIFICATE (No. 001593) confirming the deposit of a copyrighted scientific work. This work is distinguished by its application of elements of the “Theory of Catastrophes,” a concept rarely used in economic analysis but highly relevant, to the assessment of investment project risks. Within the study, a methodology was developed for modeling the tendencies of unexpected and sharp negative changes (catastrophes) in projects using directed graphs. This scientific product demonstrates the profound theoretical depth of the research conducted at the department. The methodology serves as a fundamental basis for the early detection of crisis situations in investment projects and for developing strategies to prevent them. The obtained results provide a strong scientific foundation for publishing articles in international scientific databases and for defending dissertations.
