On June 11, 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Uzbekistan, Mr. Jaak Ora, paid a visit to the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek. The Ambassador was welcomed on behalf of the university administration by Vice-Rectors Raima Shirinova and Shuhrat Toshmatov.
The purpose of the visit was to expand mutual cooperation between the National University of Uzbekistan and Estonian higher education institutions. The Ambassador specifically highlighted the activities of the University of Tartu and Tallinn University, discussing opportunities for cooperation in faculty and student exchange, as well as in master’s and doctoral programs, and the development of joint scientific projects.
During the meeting, special attention was also given to involving Estonian students more broadly in international Summer School programs between the higher education institutions of the two countries.
This visit marked an important step towards elevating scientific and educational cooperation between Uzbekistan and Estonia to a new level, particularly in forming strategic partnerships between universities.
