Delegation of the National University of Uzbekistan visited the University of Tokyo

As part of an official visit to Japan, a delegation of the National University of Uzbekistan visited the University of Tokyo. Led by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, the delegation members became closely acquainted with the university’s more than 100-year history, its rich academic traditions, and its leading role in Japan’s higher education system.

Particular interest was drawn to the University of Tokyo Library, which is considered one of the largest and most comprehensive academic resources in the world. The library contains millions of scholarly sources, rare manuscripts, and modern digital databases, and is recognized as one of the most prestigious research centers not only in Japan but globally.

According to available information, the University of Tokyo is one of the oldest and most prestigious higher education institutions in Japan, founded in 1877. The university consistently ranks highly in international rankings and is regarded as one of the global leaders in research and innovation.

As a symbol of cultural and academic ties, the National University of Uzbekistan presented the University of Tokyo with the world-renowned work “Zij-i Guragani” by the great scholar Mirzo Ulughbek as a commemorative gift. This unique offering holds special significance as a symbol of shared scientific heritage and spiritual values between the two nations.
