Today, on May 13, an online meeting was held between representatives of the National University of Uzbekistan and the University of Salzburg, Austria.
The meeting was attended by Professor Josef Strobl and Manfred Mittelböck from the University of Salzburg, and from the National University of Uzbekistan — Vice-Rector for International Relations Raima Shirinova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Shuhrat Toshmatov, Head of the Credit System Department Jasur Karimov, Head of the Department for Educational Infrastructure Transformation Nodir Narziev, and Faculty Member of the Geography and Geoinformation Systems Department Ilhom Abdullaev.
It is worth noting that cooperation between the two universities began in 2012 within the framework of the EU’s Erasmus+ programs, focusing on teacher and student exchanges as well as joint international conferences.
During today’s meeting, the final documents of a joint dual-degree master’s program in “Applied Geoinformatics” for the 2025–2026 academic year were discussed.
The parties also reviewed the partnership agreement, curricula, and educational organization processes. At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed that the documents would be signed by the end of this month.
