Today, June 13, a delegation from China’s prestigious Peking University visited the National University of Uzbekistan.
The delegation included:
Shi Luven – Director of the International Medical Management Research Center,
Guan Xiaodong – Director of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Management,
Haisharjiang Wushuer – Associate Professor at the International Medical Management Research Center,
Liu Zhaofeng – Executive Chairman of the China Association for the Development of International Medical and Health Care,
Jan Qiang – Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
The guests were welcomed by Raima Shirinova, Vice-Rector for International Relations of the National University of Uzbekistan; Nodirjon Narziev, Head of the Department for Educational Infrastructure Transformation; Javlonbek Madatov, Head of the International Cooperation Department; Ulug‘bek Oxundadayev, Head of the Department for International Student Affairs; and Alijon Oripov, Head of the Strategic Development and International Ranking Department.
The main goal of the meeting was to discuss the involvement of NUUz’s faculty in chemistry and biology in Chinese-led scientific projects within the framework of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative.
During the meeting, the following cooperation proposals were made:
• Joint implementation of scientific research projects in biology, chemistry, and biochemistry (“Life Sciences”),
• Establishing student and faculty exchange programs,
• Launching joint undergraduate and master’s degree programs.
The administration of the National University of Uzbekistan welcomed these initiatives with great interest and expressed full support.
At the end of the meeting, both parties held further negotiations on future areas of cooperation and agreed to strengthen mutually beneficial relations.
