On April 8, 2026, the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek hosted a scientific and practical conference titled “Improving Mechanisms for Combating Economic Offenses in Our Country.”
The event was organized to ensure the implementation of the priorities set out in the Presidential Decree No. PF-21 dated February 16, 2026, and was held in cooperation with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor’s Office.

During the conference, participants discussed the improvement of modern legal mechanisms for preventing, detecting, and eliminating economic offenses, the introduction of advanced international practices, and the strengthening of cooperation between government bodies and civil society institutions in ensuring economic security.
The conference brought together representatives of various ministries and agencies, as well as leading higher education institutions. Among them were experts from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Central Bank, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Customs Committee, the Tax Committee, Tashkent State University of Law, Tashkent State University of Economics, the Customs Institute, and the Budget and Tax Research Institute, along with professors, researchers, and specialists in the field.

Within the framework of the conference, reports were presented and discussed on the economic and legal aspects of economic offenses, their causes and conditions, preventive measures, and modern mechanisms to combat them.
In addition, participants analyzed existing challenges in the field and developed concrete scientific and practical proposals and recommendations to address them.

At the end of the event, professors, instructors, and students who actively contributed to the organization and conduct of the conference were awarded certificates of appreciation, diplomas, and certificates.
