The sixth session of the Nuu public talks series was dedicated to environmental and health issues, and Mekan Ibragimov, a 1st year student of the Faculty of Foreign Philology of the National University of Uzbekistan, conducted today’s seminar on the topic “Air pollution and its impact on our health”.
This session discussed sources of air pollution, its negative impact on human health and measures to reduce it.
Mekan Ibragimov spoke on the subject:
We should not consider air pollution as a purely environmental problem. It directly affects the health of generations, economic stability and quality of life in general. What will be the health of the next generation if the air we breathe is so dirty?
He notes that respiratory diseases, cardiovascular problems, and even mental health are negatively affected by air pollution. He also said that to address this problem, there is a need to increase youth activism and environmental awareness.
Zarina Rakhmonova, an environmental specialist, expressed her opinion on this problem during the event:
Not only the government, but also each of us should contribute to solving the problem of air pollution. We young people must make real efforts to preserve the environment. If we do not pay attention to ourselves, this problem will only deepen.
Also Alijon Aripov, initiator and head of strategic development and international ratings department of Nuu Public talks, expressed the following opinion:
Air pollution is not only an environmental but also a social problem. Developed countries have used many innovative solutions in this regard. We should also learn from international experience and take initiative in this regard to ensure environmental sustainability. However, it is very important to raise awareness among students and teachers about the negative effects of air pollution. We must work towards reducing car use, expanding green spaces, switching to renewable energy sources and reducing industrial emissions.
Air pollution is one of the global environmental problems today, which requires an integrated approach.
Let’s move together towards a clean and green future!
