Rector of the National University of Uzbekistan Inom Madjidov met with a delegation from Tohoku University of Japan. During the meeting, the sides discussed ways to further develop cooperation between the two higher education institutions, implement joint projects in education and research, and expand exchanges of faculty members and students.

As part of the meeting, the official opening ceremony of the Center for Japanese Education and Cultural Studies at the National University of Uzbekistan was held. The new center will focus on the in-depth study of Japan’s education system and culture, conducting research in these areas, and further developing academic ties between higher education institutions of Uzbekistan and Japan.

The center is also expected to organize academic and educational events, seminars, and meetings for students and researchers on Japanese education and culture. In the future, joint projects with Tohoku University and other Japanese higher education institutions are also planned.
