Faculty history

Until the 1930s, Faculty of Biology of National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek functioned as a department of the Physics and Mathematics Faculty. In 1931, it was created an independent Faculty of Biology and Soil Science. In 2015, it was renamed the Faculty of Biology. Scientists such as J.A. Musaev (1928-2014), Y. Turakulov (1917-2005), T.Z. Zokhidov (1906-1981) and B.O. Tashmukhamedov (1935-2020) made a great contribution to the activities of the faculty, including in the formation of research work.

Talented students

Supporting the scientific and creative research of talented students is one of the main tasks of the faculty. Young people are actively involved in Presidential and named scholarships, science olympiads, competitions, and government scientific projects. Furthermore, all necessary conditions have been created for their participation in conferences and for publishing their scientific and creative works.

Pulatova Visola Farhod kizi

One of the talented and promising students of our university, who is successfully working in the field of science. She is currently conducting her master’s degree at the Department of Human and Animal Physiology, Faculty of Biology and Ecology, National University of Uzbekistan.

is one of the current topics.

Since 2024, Visola Pulatova has been conducting in-depth scientific research within the framework of her master’s thesis on the topic “Secretory function of the pancreas in autoimmune thyroiditis.” Her scientific research is aimed at studying the impact of autoimmune thyroiditis on the body’s systems, in particular on the functioning of the pancreas, and this direction is a key area of modern medicine and experimental biology. During her master’s degree, she successfully participated in a number of international scientific and practical conferences. In particular, she participated in the 9th International Conference on Food Digestion in Poland and the international scientific conferences on nutrition and healthy lifestyles in Warsaw and Krakow, where she won first place. These achievements clearly demonstrate her scientific potential and activity in the international arena.

To date, Visola Pulatova has actively participated in the publication of two scientific articles at the Q2 level indexed in the internationally prestigious Scopus database as part of her master’s thesis. In particular, her articles on the topics “The restorative role of flavonoids in immunological, antioxidant and microbiota mechanisms in autoimmune thyroiditis” and “Immunomodulatory and histoprotective effects of luteolin and related flavonoids in autoimmune thyroiditis: a study based on a rat model” are important scientific works that shed light on the therapeutic potential of bioflavonoids.

Currently, she is achieving promising scientific results in the course of her master’s thesis on the alleviation of the widespread autoimmune thyroiditis disease by using various bioflavonoids. We believe that her practical and scientific work will serve as an important scientific basis for the development of new biologically active drugs in the fields of medicine and pharmacology in the future.

Our university team is proud of young researchers like Visola Pulatova, who are knowledgeable, inquisitive and successful in the international scientific arena, and considers their achievements to be a great motivation for the younger generation.

Ernazarov Mirsaid Mirkamol oglu

As one of the talented, ambitious and promising students of our faculty, he achieved significant success in the field of international education.
He was accepted to study at Chungbuk National University, one of the prestigious higher education institutions in South Korea, and successfully obtained a D-2 student visa.
This achievement is a bright result of Mirsaid Ernazarov’s thirst for knowledge, hard work and desire to demonstrate his potential in the international arena.

Maqsadova Zuhraxon Kahramon kizi

One of the talented graduate students of the Department of Human and Animal Physiology of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology, she is distinguished by her thirst for knowledge, scientific research and public activity.

Her award of the Zulfiya Prize testifies to her high achievements in science, spirituality and initiative among young people. The team of our faculty is proud of such talented and active young people
