The “Arnasoy Jilosi” (Glitter of Arnasoy) International Tourism Festival, organized by the National University of Uzbekistan (NUUz) on April 29 on the shores of Arnasoy district in the Jizzakh region, once again showcased the university’s leading role in promoting not only science but also the country’s tourism potential.
This prestigious event brought together local and international students, faculty members, and staff. During the opening ceremony, experts—specifically representatives from the Faculty of Geography and Geoinformation Systems—provided fascinating insights into the unique natural and ecological characteristics of the Aydar-Arnasoy lake system.
The festival featured “Zakovat” intellectual games, as well as national and international musical performances by talented youth, which created a high-spirited atmosphere. The program included boat trips across Lake Arnasoy, and competitions in volleyball, football, tug-of-war, and various relay races, encouraging a healthy lifestyle while ensuring students spent their leisure time meaningfully.
The performances of traditional lapar and maqom, which reflect the rich cultural heritage of the Uzbek people, left a lasting impression on all participants, especially the international students. At the end of the event, winners across all categories and the most active participants were honored with special commemorative gifts from the National University of Uzbekistan.
