Today, on April 30, 2026, the National University of Uzbekistan (NUUz) hosted a regular session of the University Council. The meeting addressed critical issues regarding the enhancement of the university’s scientific potential, ensuring educational quality, and supporting talented youth.

Academic Titles: As the primary item on the agenda, the Council considered recommending a group of proactive and dedicated scholars for academic titles. By today’s decision, candidates for 6 professorships and 12 associate professorships (dotsent) were approved. This marks a significant step toward sustaining the traditions of the university’s scientific schools and improving the quality of the academic staff.

Education Quality and Military Training: Council members reviewed reports on the systematic assurance of educational quality and its tangible results. Additionally, the current state of military personnel training at the Military Training Center was analyzed. Special emphasis was placed on educating youth in the spirit of patriotism and providing them with modern military expertise.

Support for Talented Youth: The Council officially confirmed the winners of Olympiads in mathematics, computer science and information technology, chemistry, biology, and physics. It was noted that these young individuals are expected to make substantial contributions to the future development of national science.

Social Protection and Sports: The NUUz administration is also prioritizing the social protection of its scientific and pedagogical staff. Specifically, the issue of providing additional payments to employees with academic degrees was reviewed. Furthermore, to promote a healthy lifestyle, special funds were allocated to the University Sports Club. This initiative aims to provide students with extensive opportunities for regular physical activity and to help them represent the university with distinction at prestigious competitions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, relevant resolutions were adopted on all discussed matters, and the university’s future strategic objectives were established.
