The International Summer School “GEM Silkway: Green Energy Management 2025” will be held at the National University of Uzbekistan from June 21-28. This project is being organized by the National University of Uzbekistan in collaboration with the Islam Karimov Tashkent State Technical University, Navoi Innovation University, as well as the Italian universities of Milano Bicocca, Sa Foscari, and Milano.
The opening ceremony of this summer school was held today. The rector of the National University of Uzbekistan, Inom Majidov, attended the event and delivered a speech. The rector noted that the topic chosen for the summer school – green energy and environmental sustainability – is relevant not only regionally, but also globally. He also expressed his support for close cooperation with representatives of foreign universities within the framework of faculties and departments.
The purpose of the summer school is to familiarize young students with global issues related to green energy, sustainable development and climate change and to improve their knowledge in these areas.
The summer school is organized in cooperation with leading higher education institutions in Europe and Asia, and about 50 students and professors from Italy, Spain, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan will participate in it.
Within the framework of the program, participants will take part in interactive trainings in the following areas:
• Green energy and environmental management strategies;
• Climate change and regional political and economic approaches;
• Greening of university infrastructure (green campus model);
• Renewable energy sources and innovative solutions;
• The role of youth in environmental leadership;
• Application of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in the green sector;
• Water resources management and environmental safety;
• Regional implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
