Students of the National University of Uzbekistan are actively engaged in the international arena, presenting their scientific and social initiatives at a global level. On April 16, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA, an international event was held within the framework of the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2026 on the topic “Engaging youth in primary drug prevention systems as a factor in accelerating the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.”

At this prestigious forum, Charos Abdugafurova, a master’s student of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the National University of Uzbekistan in the field of Social Work and an active member of the UNODC Youth Network, delivered a presentation. Her report was dedicated to the topic “Central Asia Youth Network — UNODC: Cooperation and Prevention Practices.” In her speech, she highlighted in detail the ongoing work in Central Asian countries related to youth engagement, development of prevention systems, and strengthening social initiatives, presenting this experience to the international community.

The event was organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in cooperation with Algeria, Austria, Belgium, Ecuador, Egypt, Greece, and Norway. Participation in this forum clearly demonstrates the growing international activity of students of the National University of Uzbekistan, their scientific potential, and their role in addressing global issues.
