Environmental cooperation and practical training issues discussed at the National University of Uzbekistan

A meeting was held at the National University of Uzbekistan between representatives of the State Institution “Center for State Environmental Expertise” and the faculty members and students of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology.

The event was aimed at developing cooperation between the state environmental expertise system and higher education institutions, increasing young people’s interest in environmental issues, and strengthening the practical training of future specialists.

During the meeting, representatives of the Center provided information about the institution’s main areas of activity, its tasks, and its role in the environmental protection system.

Special attention was given to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Environmental Expertise, Environmental Impact Assessment and Strategic Environmental Assessment,” adopted in 2025. It was noted that this document marks a new stage in the field and provides for the assessment of not only individual projects but also strategic-level documents.

Participants were also informed about the Center’s cooperation with international organizations and foreign partners, as well as the demand for specialists with foreign language proficiency, modern technological skills, data analysis, and environmental modeling competencies.

The event also covered national projects being implemented in the country, such as “Yashil Makon,” “Eco-culture,” and “Clean Air.” These initiatives aim to expand green areas, improve air quality, develop environmental education, and enhance public environmental awareness.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to consistently continue cooperation in training personnel, developing dual education, involving students in environmental projects, and implementing joint activities.
