The “Rector’s Cup” of the “Shunqorlar” military sports competition was held at the National University of Uzbekistan.

Today, at the Military Training Training Center of the National University of Uzbekistan, the “Rector’s Cup” of the “Shunqorlar” military-sports competition was held among students of the university.

The opening ceremony of the competition was attended by the university leadership, employees of the Military Training Training Center, military personnel, students, representatives of the mass media, and the general public.

The speakers highlighted that a series of measures are being implemented at the university to widely engage youth in sports and to nurture a physically and comprehensively developed generation imbued with love for the homeland. They also emphasized the important role of the “Shunqorlar” military-sports competition in preparing young people for military service and improving pre-conscription initial training.

Following this, the competition commenced. Eleven teams from all faculties participated. They competed against each other in various events such as marching in formation and singing military songs, balloon dragging, pull-ups on a horizontal bar, arm wrestling, disassembling and assembling an automatic rifle, stone lifting, and tug-of-war.

According to the competition results, the team from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Intelligent Technologies emerged as the absolute winner, claiming the Rector’s Cup and a cash prize of 10 million soums.

The Faculty of Social Sciences team took 2nd place, and the Faculty of Mathematics team was awarded 3rd place. 2nd place received a cash prize of 8 million soums, 3rd place – 6 million soums.

During the military-sports competitions, the young men will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the conditions created for the defenders of the Motherland, the military lifestyle, the impressions of conscripts about their service, and to talk with commanders.
