Today, the rector of the National University of Uzbekistan, Inom Madjidov, visited the Institute of Biophysics and Biochemistry of the university and got acquainted with the scientific research works and processes carried out there.

The rector of UzMU inspected the scientific laboratories of the institute and gave instructions to the officials to further develop the institute's activities and improve the infrastructure.

For information, at the Institute of Biophysics and Biochemistry, Resolution 558 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 19, 2018 "On the establishment of the Institute of Biophysics and Biochemistry at the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek" established by Resolution no.

 This institution is a scientific research institute in the field of biology, and during its activity, it contributes to the development of science and education in the fields of biology, biotechnology and pharmacology in our country.

Currently, 53 scientific employees, including 2 academicians, 10 doctors of science, 22 candidates of science and doctors of philosophy, are working in the laboratories of the Institute of Biophysics and Biochemistry in 8 fields of biology. The Institute is a Center for training highly qualified specialists and scientific personnel in the fields of biophysics, biochemistry, human and animal physiology.

In a short period of time since the establishment of the institute, 25 doctors of philosophy and science in biological sciences have been trained at the Scientific Council for the Awarding of Scientific Degrees in Biological Sciences at the Institute of Biophysics and Biochemistry.
