At the National University of Uzbekistan, a roundtable discussion on the topic “Amir Temur and the Timurid Era” was held within the framework of the “Amir Temur Month,” dedicated to the 690th anniversary of his birth.
Opening the event, Vice-Rector Ravshan Musurmanov подчеркнул that the personality and activities of Sahibqiran Amir Temur occupy a special place in the history of national statehood, and that his rich spiritual and political legacy plays an important role in educating the younger generation. He also noted that such educational events contribute to strengthening students’ historical memory and fostering a sense of national pride and patriotism.
Following this, Dilshod Shoumarov, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Political Council of the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan for ideological and advocacy affairs, delivered a speech. In his remarks, he elaborated on Amir Temur’s rich historical legacy, his wise governance, and the exemplary aspects of his life that serve as an inspiration for today’s youth.
The roundtable also featured presentations by First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual-Educational Work Tunis Khojiyev, responsible officer of the party’s Center for Practical Projects and Political Education Orif Tinibekov, First Deputy Chairman of the Tashkent City Council of UzLiDeP Sarvarkhon Ibrohimkhonov, Head of the Department for the Study of Youth Issues and Support of Entrepreneurship Dilnoza Tojiyeva, as well as a group of professors and lecturers from the Faculty of History of the National University of Uzbekistan.
The speakers highlighted the role of Amir Temur and the Timurid era in political, socio-economic, and cultural development, as well as the achievements of that period in science, architecture, and public administration, emphasizing their close connection with modern development processes.
At the end of the event, an open dialogue was held, during which participants received answers to their questions and shared various suggestions and opinions.
