A conference dedicated to current issues of historical source studies was held

On April 23, 2024, the department of "Source studies and archival studies" of the Faculty of History of the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek held an international conference on the topic "Actual issues of historical source studies in Uzbekistan".
The conference was attended by the National University of Uzbekistan, the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek Republic, the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek Republic of Uzbekistan, the "Uzarkhiv" agency, the National Archives of Uzbekistan, the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of Russia, Turkey and Kazakhstan. Researchers from prestigious universities and scientific research centers participated with their lectures.
Scientific issues in the following areas were discussed at the conference:

  • New approaches to ancient and medieval source studies of Uzbekistan;
  • Source studies of the new and most recent history of Uzbekistan;
  • Theory and practice of source studies and special historical sciences from the point of view of local and foreign scientists;
  • Issues of digital resource studies;
  • Modern research methods of source studies, historiography and archival source studies.
    The conference included researchers, professors, undergraduates and masters in the field of resource studies, as well as a wide scientific community interested in this field.
