An international scientific and practical conference on the topic “Current problems of Russian word formation – 2026” was held at the National University of Uzbekistan within the framework of the Uzbek Scientific School of Russian Word Formation. The event was organized by the Department of Russian Linguistics of the Faculty of Journalism and Uzbek Philology.
The conference was held in cooperation with the leading higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation: Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University, Northern (Arctic) Federal University and the “Russian House in Tashkent”.

The plenary session was attended by prominent philologists, professors and teachers from Uzbekistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Spain, the Czech Republic and other countries, as well as representatives of the Uzbek media.
The lectures covered such topical topics as diachronic and dialectical processes of Russian word formation, specific aspects of modern word formation, teaching methods for foreign audiences, including the use of artificial intelligence, and expressive word formation in fiction.
