ASIIN International Agency at the National University of Uzbekistan

Today, March 4, experts from the prestigious German international agency ASIIN visited the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek to conduct international accreditation of educational programs.

The accreditation process will continue on March 4–5 and covers the following programs: Mathematics (Bachelor in Mathematics), Applied Mathematics (Bachelor in Applied Mathematics), Physics (Bachelor in Physics), and the Physics Master’s program (Master in Physics).

Expert team:

  • Professor Gert-Ludwig Ingold, University of Augsburg;

  • Professor Armin Gerhard Iske, University of Hamburg;

  • Professor Stefan Gerhard Roth, RWTH Aachen University;

  • ASIIN Coordinator Dr. Natalia Vega;

  • Representative of the Institute of Physics and Technology, Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, Bobur Ergashev;

  • Master’s student of Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov, Doniyor Abduazimov.

The experts were welcomed by the Rector of the National University of Uzbekistan, Inom Madjidov, vice-rectors for respective areas, appointed coordinators, deans of the Faculties of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Physics, as well as heads of relevant departments.

During the meetings, documents related to the accredited educational programs were reviewed, including curricula, module guidelines, staff manuals, and self-assessment reports.
Information was also provided about the credit-modular system, quality assurance mechanisms, internal quality control, and ongoing international cooperation activities.

During the visit, the experts were introduced to modern facilities for students, educational and research laboratories, the transparency of the assessment system, the mechanisms for collecting student feedback, opportunities for participation in international grants and scholarships, student involvement in research projects, participation in academic exchange programs, and initiatives aimed at enhancing graduates’ competitiveness in the labor market.

Within the visit framework, experts hold meetings with faculty members, students, and employers, study the educational process, programs, and material-technical base. At the conclusion of the accreditation, the agency will present the experts’ final report on the compliance of the programs with international standards.
