An international conference on Uzbekistan–Japan academic cooperation has commenced at Tohoku University

An international conference titled “Prospects for Cooperation with the National University of Uzbekistan: Academic Exchange between Central Asia and Japan” has commenced at Tohoku University, which holds leading positions in Japan’s national rankings and is ranked 103rd and 109th globally in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) and QS rankings, respectively.

The event is particularly significant as it marks the first time Tohoku University has organized such a large-scale conference in collaboration with higher education institutions in Central Asia. The conference is being held at the initiative of the Faculty of Foreign Philology of the National University of Uzbekistan and the Faculty of Education of Tohoku University.

The conference was ceremonially opened by Masahiro Yamaguchi, Vice President for International Strategy and Global Education at Tohoku University, and Shuhrat Toshmatov, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at the National University of Uzbekistan.

The event also features active participation from Kh. Bakiyev, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Philology, along with faculty members and students, who are presenting their academic reports.

The conference is currently continuing in sectional sessions.
