A delegation from one of South Korea’s leading higher education institutions — Seoul National University (SNU) — paid a visit to the National University of Uzbekistan. The guests, led by Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Jun-Chung Lee, were welcomed by the university team headed by the Rector of NUUz, Inom Madjidov. Productive meetings and negotiations were held during the visit.

During the meeting, a memorandum (Agreement on the Partnership) was signed between the National University of Uzbekistan and the Social Responsibility Center of Seoul National University (SNUSR Center), aimed at establishing and developing volunteer activities in Uzbekistan. The document was signed by Rector Inom Madjidov and Director of the SNUSR Center, Kyo Suh.

The main objective of the agreement is to combine the capabilities and potential of both parties and to create an effective cooperation framework to enhance the impact of SNUSR volunteer activities in Uzbekistan.

The meeting agenda also included presentations on the Seoul National University Social Responsibility Program (SNUSR Program) and its winter 2026 volunteer project in Uzbekistan. The parties discussed in detail the selection process for local student volunteers, mechanisms to ensure their active participation, and the implementation of planned cultural and social events.

Seoul National University, founded in 1946, ranks 38th in the QS World University Rankings 2026 and 58th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026. The university currently has over 30,000 students (including 17,279 undergraduates, 6,919 master’s students, and 6,125 doctoral candidates) and maintains partnerships with 321 higher education institutions across 59 countries.
