Cooperation between NUUz and Turkmenistan moves to a new stage

Today, April 16, an important meeting aimed at further strengthening international cooperation was held at the National University of Uzbekistan. The Rector of the university, Inom Madjidov, held talks with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan, Shadurdi Meredov.

The parties highly appreciated this meeting as a logical continuation of the constructive and sincere dialogue that took place on September 11, 2025. During the discussion, the Rector particularly noted the strong motivation, initiative, and active participation of Turkmen students studying at the university in academic and cultural life. Detailed information was also provided about the modern educational environment, comfortable living conditions, and wide-ranging opportunities created for them.

In turn, Ambassador Shadurdi Meredov expressed his satisfaction with the strong friendly relations between the two countries, particularly the effective and promising cooperation with the National University of Uzbekistan. He put forward concrete proposals to expand joint cultural and educational projects and events throughout the current year.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on elevating academic cooperation between the National University of Uzbekistan and leading universities of Turkmenistan to a new level, including the development of joint programs and academic exchange initiatives.

In the second part of the visit, the Ambassador met with active Turkmen students of the university and held an open, warm, and inspiring conversation with them.
