Strengthening Academic Ties: Delegation from Kazan Federal University Visits NUUz

On April 24, 2026, the Faculty of History at the National University of Uzbekistan (NUUz) hosted a meeting with a delegation from Kazan Federal University (KFU). The meeting was attended by the leadership of the Faculty of History, including Dean Alisher Gaffarovich Muminov and Deputy Dean Otabek Uktamovich Muminov, as well as faculty members from the departments of Archaeology and Ethnology, History of Uzbekistan, and World History, including Professors Rustam Khamidovich Suleymanov and Olga Petrovna Kobzeva, Associate Professors Askhat Abdunabievich Biykuziev and Humoyun Alisherovich Nazarov, among others.

The visiting delegation included Lenar Fergatovich Abzalov, Deputy Dean for Research at the Higher School of International Relations and World History; Marat Salavatovich Gatin, Head of the Department of History of Tatarstan and Turkic Peoples; and Elena Evgenyevna Vorobyova, Associate Professor of the Department of Archaeology and Ethnology at KFU.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas of cooperation, including the development of student academic mobility, professional development for faculty members, the enhancement of research and publishing activities, and the establishment of joint degree programs (double degree / joint degree). Discussions also covered the expansion of joint research supervision and academic-methodological collaboration.

Furthermore, the delegation toured the modern teaching laboratory of the Department of Archaeology and Ethnology and viewed its collection of artifacts. The guests were provided with detailed information regarding the nearly century-long history and development of the Faculty of History and the Department of Archaeology and Ethnology.

Particular attention was paid to defining the next steps of the partnership, including establishing timelines for specific initiatives and the formalization of the collaborative framework.

The meeting was held in a constructive and professional atmosphere, featuring active discussions on prospective areas of cooperation and future joint projects, and concluded with fruitful results.
