From 7 to 9 October this year, the plenary meeting of the Eurasia-Pacific Uninet (EPU) international academic network and a cooperation seminar under the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme were held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty. The event brought together representatives of more than 100 leading higher education institutions from Austria, Central Asia and Europe, as well as scholars, diplomats and education experts.

The National University of Uzbekistan (NUUz) was represented at the forum by Nodir Narziyev, Head of the Department of Strategic Development and Educational Infrastructure Transformation, and Ilhom Abdullayev, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Geography and Geoinformation Systems.

As part of the forum, a roundtable discussion was held on cooperation between universities and the labour market. During the discussion, Nodir Narziyev shared NUUz’s experience in achieving institutional goals, implementing strategic development plans, improving educational infrastructure, and preparing graduates in line with labour market requirements.

The discussions also covered the European Union’s Global Gateway initiative, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, international research cooperation, and innovation in education. The Leslie project, implemented under the Erasmus+ programme, was also presented at the exhibition of collaborative projects.

The forum’s outcomes contributed to strengthening international academic ties, exchanging best practices, and advancing joint research and educational projects.
