Until the 1930s, Faculty of Biology of National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek functioned as a department of the Physics and Mathematics Faculty. In 1931, it was created an independent Faculty of Biology and Soil Science. In 2015, it was renamed the Faculty of Biology. Scientists such as J.A. Musaev (1928-2014), Y. Turakulov (1917-2005), T.Z. Zokhidov (1906-1981) and B.O. Tashmukhamedov (1935-2020) made a great contribution to the activities of the faculty, including in the formation of research work.
