The Department of Psychology was established in 1972 and for many years has trained unique, broad-profile psychologists in Central Asia and Kazakhstan.
The services of the head of the department, Professor Mahamad Vohidovich Vahidov in opening the department of psychology were invaluable. By 1990, about 800 specialists had graduated from the psychology department. V.M. Karimova and F.R. Abdurahmonov, I.E. A number of scientists, such as Khudoiberdiev, have defended their doctoral dissertations. Most of the graduates are currently working in various sectors of the economy and in the management system of our government.
The department has students from Cuba, Nicaragua, Mexico, Vietnam, Laos, Mongolia, Afghanistan, Yemen, the Arab Republic of Egypt, Angola, Mali, as well as almost all the republics of the former Soviet Union. The department has trained more than 150 specialists in foreign countries.
Until 1976, the Department of Psychology was called “Logic and Psychology” and operated within the faculties of philology and history. In 1976, it was renamed the Department of Psychology.
The students of the department received B.F. from scientific centers such as Moscow, Leningrad (St. Petersburg), Novosibirsk. Lomov, G.M. Andreeva, K.Vekker, K.M. Gurevich, I.V. Ravich-Sherba, L.A. Petrovskaya, T.V. Kudryatsev, A.M. Matyushkin, N.N. Potential professors such as Danilova delivered lectures.
From 2002 to 2010, Gaziev Ergash Gazievich worked as the head of the Department of Social Psychology at Tashkent State University (now the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek ).
At present, the department has a Specialized Scientific Council for the protection of the degree of candidate of psychological sciences.

On September 13, a delegation led by Marek Milosz, a professor at the Lublin University of Technology in Poland, visited the university. In 2019, a memorandum was signed between the two universities, and academic and scientific cooperation is being actively pursued . Currently, the university is implementing an international grant with this higher education institution on the master’s program of information technology “SATAMARAN”, 3D Digital Silk Road digitization of cultural heritage sites (3D Digital Silk road).
During the meeting, a seminar was organized on the opening of master’s programs in the field of information technology, the study of the Polish credit module system and the study of foreign experience in higher education.
It was also agreed to work on issues related to the organization of the educational process, the conduct of lectures in English, as well as additional projects aimed at the study of masters in Poland for two semesters.
An international conference “IT in Cultural Heritage of the Silk Road (IT-CHSR’2021)” dedicated to the use of information technology in the historical heritage of the Great Silk Road was held on December 13-15 at the Lublin University of Technology in Lublin, Poland.
The delegation headed by Doctor of Psychology, Professor D.Muhamedova, Doctor of Psychology, National University of Uzbekistan, participated in this international conference with their reports. For display in diagrams and infographics on the site.

Nine Uzbek alumni who have successfully graduated from the Central Asian Academy of Young Leaders, organized by USAID, are participating in a week-long study tour in Tbilisi, Georgia, December 12-18, 2021. During the tour, Georgian Youth Agency, National University of Georgia, Kahita District Youth Center, International Volunteer Group, Telavi Deputy Mayor for Youth Policy, Formula Media TV and a number of other organizations are visiting Georgia to get acquainted with youth policy. Gulbonu Kuvatova, a third-year student of Applied Psychology at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the National University of Uzbekistan, also took part in it.
4th year students of the Department of Psychology undergo pedagogical practice.
Pedagogical practice is one of the important components of the educational process. Its main purpose is to demonstrate the professional training of psychologists as pedagogical psychologists in all spheres of pedagogical enterprises (vocational colleges, academic lyceums, secondary schools), as well as in the image of an ideologically mature person, public figure, propagandist of anthropology.
